Mauritius opened to the French with a simple identity card

The Mauritian authorities have officially announced the authorization for French nationals to enter their territory without a passport.
The decision was released on October 11, 2017 but nothing was official then.
From November 1, 2017 to March 15, 2018 (a departure from France March 14 at the latest), French nationals will be able to visit Mauritius on presentation of a valid national identity card. The 5-year extension of the validity period is excluded from the process.
Included are flights from mainland France or the island of Reunion.
