FAS approves merger of AB InBev and Anadolu Efes in Russia | Advertising Marketing PR

The pooling of assets can be completed before the end of the first half of 2018

Depositfotos The Federal Antimonopoly Service has previously approved the joint activities of the brewing companies AB InBev and Anadolu Efes in the Russian Federation, Interfax reports with reference to the press service of AB InBev. It is assumed that the merger can be completed before the end of the first half of 2018. All changes will take effect after the closing of the transaction, until this moment AB and Efes will continue to operate as independent businesses. At the moment, the companies, together with the consultants involved, continue binding procedures for agreeing the transaction and are working on developing a plan for effective integration. Earlier, the Belgian brewing concern Anheuser-Busch InBev and the largest brewing company in Turkey Anadolu Efes concluded an agreement on intentions to merge their businesses in the territories of Russia and Ukraine in equal shares. Companies filed motions with the relevant regulatory authorities of the two countries to verify the proper legal status of the transaction and obtain the necessary permits. The future name of the merged company is AB InBev-Efes, its president will be the head of AB InBev's business units in Russia and Ukraine Dmitry Shpakov. The board of directors will consist of representatives of both companies in equal proportions.
